In cooperation with the European Commission the Gerda Henkel Foundation
launches a new fellowship programme. The funding initiative M4HUMAN
(Mobility for experienced researchers in historical humanities including
Islamic studies) gives outstanding researchers the opportunity to spend a
longer period of time at a foreign research institution of their choice.

The call for proposals is open to researchers from all over the world.
Main areas of research are the disciplines promoted by the Gerda Henkel
Foundation – History, Prehistory and Early History, Archaeology, Art
History, Historic Islamic Studies, Legal History as well as the special
programme “Islam, the modern nation state and transnational movements”. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2011.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

die Gerda Henkel Stiftung initiiert in Kooperation mit der Europäischen
Kommission ein neues Stipendienprogramm. Ziel der Förderinitiative M4HUMAN
(Mobility for experienced researchers in historical humanities including
Islamic studies) ist es, hervorragenden Wissenschaftlern einen längeren
Auslandsaufenthalt an einer selbst gewählten Forschungsinstitution zu
ermöglichen.

Bewerben können sich Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler weltweit, die
in den von der Gerda Henkel Stiftung geförderten Fachgebieten
(Geschichtswissenschaften, Ur- und Frühgeschichte, Archäologie,
Kunstgeschichte, Historische Islamwissenschaften und
Rechtsgeschichte) oder zu Themen des Förderschwerpunktes »Islam, moderner
Nationalstaat und transnationale Bewegungen« forschen. Die Antragsfrist
endet am 30. Juni 2011.

- 4. Fellowships at Center for Medieval & Renaissance Studies

Nantes’ Institute for Advanced Studies (IEA) is now accepting applications
for residential fellowships for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Institute
provides an office, housing and up to full replacement of salary for up to
10 months. The deadline for applications for the 2012-2013 academic year is
May 31st 2011. Full information (in French, English, Spanish and Arabic)
and application materials can be found at http://www.iea-nantes.fr/ . The
IEA welcomes applicants in the Social Sciences and Humanities from all
countries ; residents range from young postdocs to confirmed
intenationally-acclaimed scholars.
