Call for Papers : SSFH Annual Conference in Durham (10-12 July 2014)

Dear colleagues,

May I draw your attention to the call for papers for the Society for the
Study of French History’s annual conference at the University of Durham on 10-12 July 2014, immediately after the Leeds International Medieval Congress ?

Medieval history has often been under-represented at the SSFH annual
conference, but this seems to be a marvellous opportunity to rectify that.
Durham is only 75 minutes by train from Leeds, and the SSFH conference has been deliberately timed to allow medievalists to travel on from Leeds to
Durham. The conference always has a theme – this year, ‘History and the
Senses’ – but sessions may be organised on any aspect of French history (in
its broadest sense). Papers may be delivered in English or French.

It would be excellent if there were some sessions concerning medieval France
at this year’s SSFH conference, in the shadow of one of Europe’s finest (and
most unspoilt) medieval cathedrals. Please send this on to anyone who you
think may be interested.
