The Department of History at the University of Hull wishes to appoint to a Lecturer in Medieval History from 1st September 2019 until 31st August 2020 as temporary cover for the teaching duties of a member of staff during a period of research leave. You will join a department with consistently high satisfaction rates. In the National Student Survey, History’s average overall student satisfaction rate exceeds 95% over the last twelve years.

Applicants should have expertise in the political and/or social history of the Middle Ages. Those whose research interests cover England and its neighbours c.1150-1250 are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in medieval history, and to undertake academic administrative duties.

Candidates should have a completed PhD, teaching experience and an exceptional record of research in a relevant subject area, along with high-quality publications in place prior to the November 2020 REF deadline.
